Radical Number...

Another word for square root is 'Radical' , which is the opposite operation of Exponentiation.

Exponentiation is multiplying a number by itself a certain number of times.

If the exponent is 2, you multiply a number by itself twice. The square root undoes this. In general you undo a power with a radical, and a radical can undo a power.
